SYSTEMS SOFTWARE ENGINEER (GISLC-19-0522-Z):

Bowhead is searching for a TS cleared Systems Software Engineer to support the Army Geospatial Center (AGC), located in Alexandria, Virginia. The AGC provides timely, accurate, and actionable geospatial information products and services to Soldiers, joint partners, first responders, and others who depend upon high-resolution geospatial information to complement their operations.

The GIS Systems Software Engineer writes, modifies and debugs GIS software. Designs and implements data conversion procedures and monitors software for quality control checks. Performs detailed software and database conversion design, and is directly involved in the coding and implementation of more complex and strategic portions of application software and database conversion GIS projects.

* Applies experience and knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) software, software engineering and programming supporting broad base of applications.
* Ensures the stability, integrity and efficient operation of systems.
* Designs and develops quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) programs and oversee design and code reviews, database reviews, and other QA/QC activities throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements • Requires six (6) or more years of relevant systems software experience and a Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Master's Degree is a plus.

* Security+ IAT Level II certification is required.
* Requires software engineering and programming experience in GIS system applications.
* Experience with off-the-shelf (COTS) image software in both Windows/Linux operating environment.
* Proficient in ESRI product languages, programming languages, Internet markup languages, and other technologies.
* Amy GIS and Installation GIS experience is preferred (e.g., USACE or Army Geospatial Center).
* Experience in software system requirements, analysis, design, and coding methodologies; documentation standards; configuration management; DoD software policies; and DoD test and evaluation requirements; distributed systems, modeling and simulation, and resource utilization assessment.
* Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Requires an active Top Secret DoD security clearance. Must be eligible for SCI clearance including successfully passing a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.
