GIS Analyst, Senior

Key Role:

Serve as a Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) analyst in support of multiple federal government clients. Use ESRI ArcGIS tools to model, design, and analyze environmental, demographic, transportation, and infrastructure work. Create and maintain geospatial databases supporting the analysis and visualization of geospatial data. Contribute to the development of strategic plans and methodologies to solve complex problems. Develop analytical and technical reports and publications, creating graphics and writing portions of the documents. Conduct oral presentations to internal and external audiences. Act as a member of a team, participating in the subtasks that comprise a larger analysis, documenting analytic processes and procedures, and contributing to quality assurance.

Basic Qualifications:

* 3+ years of experience in working with ArcGIS tool suite
* 3+ years of experience with georeferencing, digitizing, and geoprocessing, creating, editing, and managing large relational databases and geodatabases, and publishing services or working with Web map services
* 3+ years of experience with researching, extracting, integrating, and manipulating geospatial and imagery data from multiple sources and presenting, briefing, or communicating analytic research material to internal staff and clients
* 3+ years of experience with cartography and creating client-ready map graphics
* 3+ years of experience with developing and documenting methodologies to solve complex problems
* Experience with leading or tasking a team of at least 2 staff or with project management
* Experience with creating compiling project plans, spend plans, task estimating, and reporting
* Experience with marketing GIS as a solution internally to a team or to an external client to grow GIS as a solution and obtain new work
* Ability to obtain a security clearance
* BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

* Experience with consulting
* Experience in working with 3D data, satellite imagery mapping, LiDAR, and other drone-based imagery or data output
* Knowledge of ESRI's Web Mapping Applications (WMAs), hosting published data, or finding published data
* Knowledge of additional ESRI-based extensions or tools, including Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst, or Collector
* Knowledge of open source Web mapping applications, including Leaflet
* Knowledge of remote sensing software tools and techniques
* Knowledge of scripting languages, including Visual Basic and JavaScript to manage and create geospatial information
* Ability to research, synthesize, and analyze data from numerous sources to develop reports and recommendations working effectively in a team and with technical staff
* Ability to automate GIS processes using Python scripts or modeling
* Ability to work on various projects at the same time and prioritize work to meet internal and external team and client expectations
* Possession of excellent organizational skills in a rapidly changing environment
* Secret clearance preferred
* MA or MS degree in Geographic Information Systems
* GIS Professional Certification
