As a firmware developer in the embedded department you will be working in a cross functional team responsible for development of new features, testing and maintenance of one of our products. We also have teams working with technical evaluations of the next device/sensor/radio/technology to be used in our wide range of opening solutions. You will be working in an organization/department that is dynamic and fast paced, with many possibilities to make a difference and add value to the business. The Embedded Systems group at Shared Technologies consists of about 30 developers working with several different product families. We currently have several open positions and focus areas that allows us to provide you with the opportunity to move between teams and specialize in several different fields.

Who you are

We believe that you are a skilled Embedded Software Engineer that is dedicated to being part of a team delivering high quality software. You do this by sharing our belief in the agile values, by being motivated, focused, taking initiatives, and being eager to learn. Electronics system development, continuous integration, design discussions, refactoring and pair programming is a natural part of your work. Development tasks could include anything from software design, embedded C-programming and test automation to debugging software issues. As part of the team you do what needs to be done for a successful release, including investigating reported bugs, writing documentation, taking part in pre-release testing, and doing performance measurements. As a FW developer we expect you to be open to new technologies, ways of working and to continuously improve your skills and to find your area of expertise. We expect you to do great work, both as part of a team and independently. We work in a global environment so you need to be proficient in English, both written and spoken.

We are looking for

Currently looking for junior and senior developers to our Embedded Team, examples of available areas are: radio communication, embedded architecture, low power mechatronics, communication protocols, standards and certification, cryptology and FW security.

The meriting experiences below may allow for a more senior role, but at least you need to have:

* Very good C programming skills and general µP experience
* Scrum, Kanban experience
* Debugging of embedded systems

Other meriting knowledge or experiences:

* RFID/NFC/BLE/mesh technologies, communication stacks and protocols
* Challenges of developing embedded systems in a modern radio environment
* Embedded security and encryption knowledge, symmetric and asymmetric techniques
* TCP/IP Networking, Security and Protocol Design
* RS232/485/I2C communication
* International Standards, Certification and Protocols such as ISO, UL, ONVIF, OSDP, OSS, SEOS
* Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems, Free RToS
* Knowledge of electromechanical locking products or access control systems

In this position, occasional traveling to our other sites might be required.
