Job Description

AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts, with campuses in Hollywood and New York City, is one of the foremost post-secondary performing arts colleges in the country. AMDA offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programs in Acting, Musical Theatre, Dance Theatre and Performing Arts as well as two year conservatory programs.

The Full Stack Web Developer will continually design and modify AMDA's website; analyze user needs to implement website content, graphics, performance, and capacity. May integrate website with other computer applications. May convert written, graphic, audio, and video components to compatible web formats by using software designed to facilitate the creation of web and multimedia content.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Lead the design and development of AMDA's website.
* Work with departmental leads to service daily website update requests.
* Responsible for finding solutions to problems as they pertain to the website.
* Work to improve connectivity between website and 3rd party systems.
* Make updates to 3rd party systems as they relate to the website.
* Continuously look to improve the user experience of the website.
* Improve the infrastructure and code base of the website when possible.
* Continuously look to improve security measures to keep website data safe.
* Test the website for quality assurance issues and bugs, as well as addressing any discovered items.
* Take ownership of the entire website and be able to resolve any issues in a timely fashion.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
* 5+ years of web development experience.
* Experience leading a team and working with other departments preferred.
* Excellent understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
* Solid understanding of the Laravel PHP framework.
* Well-versed in MySQL database structure and management.
* Understanding of all that's required to host websites.
* Expert understanding of web standards, cross browser/platform compatibility, and usability best practices.
* Well-versed in responsive web-design best practices.
* Ability to bug test by using traces as well as browser developer tools in Safari and/or Chrome.
* Experience with 3rd party plugins such as video players, social feeds, and other widgets.
* Collaborative team player.
* Ability to think calmly and clearly while problem solving in stressful situations.
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage several projects at once without sacrificing quality.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills (both oral and written)
