About the Role

This is a role on the Constant Contact Continuous Delivery team. We are seeking an engineer who has demonstrated experience with and passion for developing the tooling necessary to effectively build, package, and deploy front-end web applications and JavaScript components. The need for this role grew out of a grassroots campaign by engineers to modernize our front-end technologies through the creation and adoption of standardized tooling.

Specifically, the engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining yeoman generators for new project bootstrapping and upgrading, and CD pipelines to facilitate the creation and upgrading of JavaScript components and applications deploy these projects, as well as a variety of other projects that arise with the goal of keeping our Front-End tech stack modern and free of technical debt. The engineer will work closely with all front-end development teams to learn their use cases, advise on front-end tooling best practices, spread the adoption of modern tooling, and help reduce tech debt.

About You

Responsibilities

* As part of a scrum team, provide technical direction for and be a key contributor to the development of front-end tooling and CD pipelines to enable development teams to move faster.
* Collaborate with architects and development teams to understand the team needs and find the best technical solution for meeting those needs.
* Mentor junior members on best practices, architecture, and development
* Stay on top of industry trends and ensure the team appropriately utilizes the latest technologies and best practices
* Be a key contributor to the creation of a long-term, scalable architecture.

Technical Skills

* Several years developing large scale performant front-end web applications
* Expert knowledge of JavaScript dependency management with npm
* Expert knowledge of JavaScript (including ES2015), CSS, HTML
* Expert knowledge working with Git in a CI/CD environment
* Experience with front-end development frameworks such as React, Angular, etc.
* Experience writing sharable JavaScript libraries with a respect for semantic versioning
* Experience with unit testing and test driven development
* Ability to clearly articulate engineering design proposals and reflect feedback in their work

Nice to Haves

* Experience with Protractor, RSpec or equivalent integration testing framework
* Knowledge of JavaScript build tools such as Webpack/Rollup, Grunt/Gulp, Babel, etc.
* Experience with React and/or Backbone/Marionette
