Overview

The Front-end Developer/UI Designer, under the general supervision of a project manager, supervisor or technical architect, develops, tests, and supports new and existing custom applications. The Front-end Developer/UI Designer is assigned tasks of moderate complexity and receives assistance when necessary from a project manager, technical architect or senior developer. The Front-end Developer/UI Designer brings innovative ideas to the attention of his or her project manager, supervisor or technical architect before implementing them. The Front-end Developer/UI Designer demonstrates clear communication skills, the ability to build good relationships with team members and end users, and possesses problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities

* Develop code for web pages using semantic HTML5, modern CSS3/SASS, and JS to aid interactivity and animation• Create and maintain digital style guides and stylesheets across various projects and teams• Create mobile-first, responsive layouts with Bootstrap or custom framework• Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences• Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces• Design screens, templates, and components using HTML5, CSS3, JS/ES6, and other design tools• Create reusable components with Angular 4+, AngularJS, or other frameworks• Design, develop, test, and debug UI components• Demonstrate understanding of responsive web design, browser compatibility, progressive enhancement, accessibility, and animations• Produce digital assets, templates, graphics, icons, and images using industry best practices• Participate in and lead related peer code reviews and help ensure design standards are followed• Understand Web Content Accessibility Guidelines• Work with other team members, including software developers, business analysts, subject matter experts, product managers, and technical architects• Provide time estimates for deliverables and task• Report daily status of assigned tasks• Follow all team coding standards• Follow documented work schedule policies• Attend weekly team meetings• Provide end-user application support• Track support calls and update tickets accordingly• Perform other tasks as required

Qualifications

* Possess one of the following: Associates/Bachelor degree, preferably in the fields of graphic design, web design, computer science or engineering, or information systems; equivalent work experience• 2+ years professional experience with AngularJS or Angular 2+ or React• 2+ years professional experience with Bootstrap or other responsive toolkits• Experience creating UI mockups and working with business partners or product managers to design user interfaces• Additional exposure to Ionic; Appium, Jasmine, or other test frameworks; Javascript package managers (NPM/Yarn/Webpack); Javascript task runners (Grunt/Gulp); and previous graphical design experience is a plus• Strong analytical background required
