We are currently seeking highly motivated senior consultants to support financial product subledger implementations at financial institutions, and to help support various internal and account-driven business development activities related to financial products, finance data and finance technology. The ideal candidate has financial product accounting, reporting and/or data experience within banking, insurance or asset management.

Responsibilities

* Support project workstream(s) within multi-faceted financial product subledger implementation projects at large financial services institutions including data modeling & finance reporting


* Demonstrate technical capabilities across financial products, including accounting, reporting and data including:

* Working with other EY teams and client business and IT partners to develop and analyze business intelligence needs


* Providing input to business requirements for the design of solutions and interprets business requirements and determines optimum BI solutions to meet needs.


* Documenting and maintaining business intelligence requirements for risk and finance reporting for various financial products


* Working with software vendor subject matter experts to gain a working knowledge of the software product business logic and data architecture


* Configuring / developing dashboards and finance reports into Business Intelligence Tools


* Researching and resolving testing defects that are caused by inaccurate or missing data


* Producing ad hoc queries and reports to assist in business analysis and project execution


* Training system users (including static data team members) on business intelligence tools and reporting capabilities.


* Providing post- "go-live" support to system end users for data related matters


* Participating in project planning and status updates


* Participates in workstream planning process including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of BI solutions


* Deliver high-quality client solutions/work products that meet and exceed client expectations and are delivered on-time and within agreed to budget.


* Support service delivery including but not limited to defining project approach, leading and motivating project work streams, monitoring and managing project risks, managing stakeholders, and successfully delivering client solutions.


* Stays abreast of BI products/tools and of business strategies and direction.



Qualifications:

Relevant experience:

Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience at a financial services company (bank, insurance or asset management company) or comparable experience working as an advisor to a financial services company or minimum of 2 years of consulting experience, providing advisory services in finance area (finance and accounting systems implementations a plus.

* 1+ years of experience with relational databases (Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, DB2, etc.)


* 1+ years of experience with 1 or more Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Qlik, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Cognos, etc.)


* 1+ years of designing insightful Visualizations

Business Intelligence Skills & Experience:


* Knowledge of the finance business area including the types of reporting required for a finance organization and how best to enable those requirements with various business intelligence tools including standard reporting, dashboards, etc


* Understanding of ETL tools, SQL query tools and Transact SQL (SQL Server v2005-2008), Experience in the use and creation of data lineage models. Experience with the use of entity relationship models. Experience with SQL server performance tuning and monitoring.


* Knowledge of relational, SQL and dimensional databases (e.g. DB2 and Teredata)


* Knowledge of Business Intelligence software programs such as Oracle, SAP Business Objects, Fiori, Tableau, IBM Cognos, Microsoft Power BI, Qlikview, Microstrategy, etc


* Visual design skills used in creating information dense, easy to understand reports and dashboards


* Experience building data models for financial products including payments, deposits, loans, securities, debt, derivatives, insurance contracts, reinsurance, etc.

* Solid understanding of software development lifecycles; including at least one end-to-end finance system technology implementation project


* Working collaboratively in a team environment


* Ability to develop / foster business relationships with mid to senior-level executives / sponsors


* Excellent oral and written communication skills


* Strategic thinking with the ability to collect, organize, and synthesize information to make a decision, recommendation, or present a POV.


* Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.


* Strong relationship management, organizational and project management skills.


* Willingness to travel



Education

* MBA and/or professional certification (e.g. CPA, CFA) preferred.


* Technical/vendor certifications a plus but not mandatory.


* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management
