Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Revenue Cycle, the Financial Applications Analyst is responsible for providing proficient, professional, and skilled support for Emerson Hospital's Meditech Magic environment and all financial supporting applications.

The Financial Application Analyst will work as a member in a team environment to implement and support current and new applications and upgrades. The Analyst may also provide training to other employees on the various applications and will frequently collaborate with various Emerson Hospital departments to maximize the efficiency and use of electronic information systems.

Job Functions:

1.Coordinates projects for all financial systems implementations, upgrades and enhancements.

2.Performs first and second level application support for all existing applications. Acts as a resource to the Help Desk for escalation of complex application software problem resolution. This may include monitoring application performance, auditing the application to insure maximum usage, problem diagnosis and resolution, application training, leading policy and procedure development, and updating and maintaining documentation.

3.Researches and maintains a knowledge of emerging new applications and strategies and their relative value against competitors and the benefit to the organization. Easily assimilates new software applications and arrives at viable conclusions regarding their value to the organization. Must communicate complex application requirements to management and clinical units.

4.Provides information systems support to finance management related to download of data, data conversion and report writing.

5.Acts as a resource in development of departmental operational policies relating to financial information systems.

6.Directs and coordinates software training within the Finance Department.

7.Can assist or lead feasibility studies, FMEA (failure mode and effects) studies, process studies and cost/benefit analyses.

8.Responsible for working with the technical staff to develop a usable network design for all existing and proposed applications.

9.Conducts professional presentations on an as needed basis.

10.Conducts individual application testing and integrated testing of all system functions and interfaces. Is able to write complex test plans and test scripts.

11.Maintains and supports patient's rights to care, privacy and respect.

12.Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Health Care, Information Systems, or related specialty, and/or equivalent experience/training with a minimum of two (2) of experience in the health care industry.

Experience:

2-4 years experience using Meditech Financial Applications required.

1+ years training/teaching experience preferred

Licensure and/or Certification: None required.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of project management, analysis skills, computer systems testing and training.

Expert knowledge of Meditech or other health care application software in a health care setting.

Excellent organizational and communications skills (written and oral).

Ability to independently identify and resolve major or minor problems or difficulties.

Ability to communicate in interpersonal and technical levels both verbally and in writing.

Excellent customer service skills.

Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

Computer skills required.

Ability to maintain confidential information.
