Responsibilities

* Collection of financial aid data for reporting purposes and to assist in the development of technology plans, strategies, etc.; creating, reviewing and distributing business reports to multiple constituents;
* Assist in the planning and implementation of systems related projects including but not limited to maintenance of process set-up, criteria tables, system security maintenance; make recommendations regarding technology and implementation especially as they relates to reporting needs and resources;
* Create, generate and test various PeopleSoft queries and reports; work closely with IT to resolve errors; test and implement new systems and releases; develop daily, weekly, and annual PeopleSoft productions schedule to ensure timely financial aid delivery to students;
* Update and further establish policies, procedures and training manual(s); stay updated on the regulatory releases, patches, fixes, testing, and refinement of the PeopleSoft Financial Aid module
* Serve as liaison to such offices as Information Technology Services (ITS), Institutional Research (IR), Oracle (PeopleSoft)/PeopleSoft user group (HEUG) and the Dept. of Ed Common Origination & Disbursement, COD;
* As a member of the financial aid team, support customer satisfaction through the delivery of ongoing information services and respond to student questions regarding the use of NYIT's student self-help website;
* Other projects as assigned by the Senior Director of Financial Aid

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree required
* Master's degree preferred
* Five years of experience in planning and applying information technology to one or more business functions OR a bachelor's degree with experience in planning and applying information technology to one or more business functions;
* Working knowledge of Federal, State and Instituional rules and regulations; In-Depth knowledge in PeopleSoft system of records
* A working knowledge and understanding of financial aid, both federal and institutional; Experience in writing a SQL; mastery experience in Excel, Word, Access;
* Experience in Student Financial Aid systems; knowledge of PeopleSoft is ideal;
* Possess a sound understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse methodologies;
* Excellent communication, organizational and judgement skills; ability to collaborate in decision making; a commitment to student services in a potentially high-stress encounter in a professional manner.
* Flexibility in putting in additional hours is required when priorities dictate this requirement. Some nights and weekends are required. Preferred Qualifications:
* Demonstrated proficiency (1 to 3 years experience) in PeopleSoft Student Administration Student Financial Aid system programming and administration,
* Degree in computer science or information technology,
* SQL-SQR extensive experience
