Altair is looking for a highly motivated and energetic Field Deployment Engineer to join the Knowledge Works team. We are looking for those with the ability to navigate and adapt in a fast-aced environment and help implement and integrate our new product into varied environments. A candidate for this position should be comfortable working in both on-premise as well as cloud environments; however, of the two, cloud experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

* Provide in-depth application development and deployment expertise to support the technical relationship with Altair Knowledge Works customers
* Conduct product and solution briefings along with proof-of-concept work
* Work closely with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption
* Hands-on work with customers; assist in integrating Knowledge Works into customer environments
* Gather and document client environment and systems information, and define best approach for deploying Knowledge Works for clients
* Recommend strategies, architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution
* Collaborate with other data intelligence services team members (data preparation, data science) to understand usage patterns for deployed system
* Provide hands-on expertise in installing and configuring in various cloud and on-prem environments
* Experience with tools such as Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes

Qualifications:

* Experience serving in the capacity of a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent customer-facing role
* Linux experience, preferably at the enterprise level
* Experience with Kubernetes deployments or ability to quickly learn
* Ability to learn and recommend existing and new systems technologies which are useful in improving product features, performance, stability, maintainability, and facilitate deployment
* BS (or higher) in computer science or equivalent practical experience
* Experience working with cross-functional teams and customers
* Experience presenting and developing technical pitches
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 40% of the time)
* Experience in the following:

o Operating systems

o Networking

o Security

o Data architecture

o Public & private sub-net configuration

o Working with load balancers

o Scripting
