Federated Wireless' Spectrum Controller, which delivers software-defined spectrum through a cloud-native Spectrum Access System (SAS), protects Federal incumbents with a redundant network of Environmental Sensing Capability (ESC) sensors, and provides a robust set of lifecycle management tools with real-time visibility for optimizing and monetizing Citizens Broadband Radio Services (CBRS).

The Role:

The UI Software Engineer is a UI-centric full stack software engineer who will help lead the development of a world-class, highly-scalable web UI for the Federated SAS cloud application. This engineer is expected to be able to independently design, develop, deploy and maintain the assigned UI projects in all phases of the agile development and deployment life cycle. This will include full stack cloud development as needed to support the web UI requirements. Self-motivation, teamwork and experience working in a fast-paced agile environment are highly desired.

Responsibilities

* Designs, develops, tests, and documents world-class, highly-scalable web UI
* Performs full stack development in support of the web UI requirements
* Provides complete ownership of application or feature (design, development, testing, deployment, support) within the team
* Tracks different aspects of development and testing work in an Agile process
* Creates automated unit tests, integration tests, stress/load tests and tracks found bugs using scripting languages and automation frameworks
* Assists with product studies, performs requirements analysis, and develops software architectures to meet requirements
* Follows security guidance in the development process as well as in SW design

Qualifications

General skills and Education:

* 3+ years of experience
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering

And experience in the following categories:

UI Software Development and Engineering:

* Strong user interface design skills and user experience competencies with reference-able examples
* Experience with UI technologies such as Javascript, React, Redux, NodeJS, HTML5, CSS/SASS
* Experience with UI test technologies such as Mocha, Karma, Selenium
* Full stack web development experience (front-end GUI and back-end server development)
* RESTful server and client implementations
* Familiarity with integrating user interfaces with large-scale analytics systems
* Git source code control
* Strong knowledge of open-source libraries/packages
* Experience with Test-driven development methodology
* Experience with Agile development and CI/CD pipelines - familiarity with Jira/Atlassian and Jenkins (or similar solution) desirable

Cloud:

* Experience with Cloud platforms, and designing user interfaces for scale
* Familiarity with AWS Cloud and native services such as EC2, ECS, EBS, S3, Dynamo, EFS, CloudFront, Cloudwatch desirable
* 3rdParty Cloud services such as MongoDB for No-SQL storage, ELK for Analytics desirable
* Familiarity with automated verification frameworks for Cloud applications desirable
