Overview

The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB is currently seeking a Fare Payment System Specialist in our New York, NY office.

HNTB's Fare Payment System Specialist will be focused on working with transit agencies across the US to review and improve technology supporting critical daily operations, focusing on fare payment systems. Technology's impact on transportation is increasing at a rapid pace, and many agencies are seeking a more seamless customer experience across transit properties and transit modes utilizing open architecture and industry standard payment methods and devices, such as mobile payments. Access to data by the public and by internal stakeholders means that customers and agencies can both improve their decision-making processes both today and the future.

Job Summary

Responsible for the leadership and management of team in support of the project's profitable operation. Responsible for proactively managing the projects technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB's 4 for 4 (Consistent delivery of quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client's satisfaction on every project) performance. Responsible for gross revenue of <$5M.

Essential Responsibility

* Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
* Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client's satisfaction.
* Implements the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.
* Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.
* Coordinates work efforts and reviews of work performed by project team. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
* Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualification Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant degree 8 years relevant experience In lieu of education, 12 years relevant experience Preferred Qualification/SkillsThe ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of payment processes and fare payment projects for transit agencies; in addition, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation concepts and daily operations, project management, and a strong interest in and knowledge of emerging technology solutions and services. The candidate will work with a diverse team on strategic planning, procurement, selection, and implementation of leading edge transportation fare payment technologies. The candidate may also use her technical expertise to assist with asset management systems, intelligent transportation systems, mobile technology, and other IT systems to support transit agencies' operations, working directly with clients on site and in the field. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth understanding of technology system design and implementation best practices, as well as experience in system development, testing and implementation. The candidate should have demonstrated ability to manage a project, task, or set of tasks using industry-standard tools and techniques and measure progress against/adhere to schedule and budget. - Proven experience working with a transit agency on fare payment system and/or mobile application project. - Knowledge of/experience with payment and information security, transit fare policy, and business rule documentation. - Knowledge of new and emerging technologies, their application in transportation, and associated integration considerations. - Ability to work directly with transit agency stakeholders to understand and document current and desired future processes to inform functional requirements to solve business problems. - Hands on experience in the development, design, testing and implementation of large scale technology projects. - Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project). - Superior written and verbal communication skills. - Proven ability to gather and analyze complex data sets and present results in clear and audience-appropriate reports. General Work Conditions Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client's job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
