Teaching and Administrative Assignment Data Oversight

* Manages the annual faculty planning and staffing process, collecting, preparing, analyzing and disseminating data from a broad range of sources.
* Prepares staffing reports, associated analyses, materials and meeting handouts. Works with data custodians in MBA, Doctoral, HBX, and Executive Education to improve the accuracy and timeliness of faculty assignment data.
* Anticipates faculty staffing information requirements, proactively researching teaching assignment information from internal and external resources.
* Monitors faculty workload utilization, maintaining awareness of teaching assignments and impact, and exercises judgement to recommend appropriate action.

Annual Research Allocation Planning Process

* Supporting the work of the Director, Business Operations, assists with the logistics around the budget allocation process. Prepares individual reports on research spending and output. Monitors planning forms and supplemental requests to inform the Director's work
* Support for Director and Faculty Administration
* Supports the work of the Director, acting as a thought partner in the use of data to inform strategic decision making. Anticipates data and reporting needs, effectively leveraging the Director's time. Collaborates with other members of the Faculty Administrations team by sharing information and seeking solutions for process improvement.
* Provides support to the Executive Director, Directors, and other members of the faculty administration team on ad hoc projects in support of the work of the team and the division. Demonstrates initiative in recommending best practices or areas for process improvement.

The Faculty Administration team supports a variety of HBS faculty Human Resource activities and is the custodian of highly confidential faculty information. The Faculty Information Analyst is a key member of this team with responsibility for managing and facilitating the flow of data into and out of the Faculty Information System (FIS) - a comprehensive HRIS system for the faculty, and insuring the accuracy of the data. The Faculty Information Analyst conceives of and executes data analysis to solve management questions using complex data models, creates reports, and assists in a variety of activities that support the faculty planning and staffing processes, always adhering to the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality in the handling, storage and sharing of this highly confidential data.
