Amazon's Employee Services Technology (ES Tech) team is seeking a Senior Software Development Manager for Learning Products at Amazon. We're looking for highly technical entrepreneurs who are passionate about innovating on behalf of customers, demonstrate a high degree of product ownership, and want to have fun while they make history. This role will be responsible for the technical ownership of an Amazon mission critical system.

As Sr. Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in design, development, testing, and deployment of new tools and developer-facing capabilities. In this role you will have independent technical ownership of a new system, interfacing with critical internal and 3P service providers. You will define the technical vision, drive end-to-end architectural design and development through delivery and global launch. You will contribute to architecture discussions and conduct code reviews. You will regularly take part in deep-dive exercises and drive technical discussions to identify the best solution for development. You will own operational excellence and insist on the highest standards of system support and service to our customers and our employees. You will have an enormous opportunity to impact the employee experience with products used every day by you, your team and your colleagues.

A successful candidate will have an established background in working with 3P developers and companies. They will be experienced in building enterprise tooling and automation for customer facing products and services. Candidates should have demonstrated the ability to build and manage a team of skilled engineers. Candidates will need strong technical ability, project management expertise, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated solid communication skills and be comfortable briefing executive leadership and partnering with the senior leadership of internal and external organizations.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

* Build a best-in-class engineering team that delivers results through rapid iterations
* Cultivate engineering and operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning
* Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments within an Agile/Scrum environment
* Maintain frugality and efficiency in system costs and utilization
* Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to leadership and program interfaces
* Provide thought leadership and establish technical vision for the team
* Mentor and grow SDEs to take on increasingly higher responsibilities
