Job Description

Summary:

The Equipment Specialist provides review of engineering data, job aids, technical guides/documents, desk guides, standardized configuration drawings and illustrated parts break-downs prior to field implementation to ensure consistent high quality product delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Equipment Specialist provides technical editing of documents as well as identifying and preparing illustrations/images. Reviews and analyzes configuration and supply data to identify and correct discrepancies as well as assist in stock control and management. Participates in supportability analysis to include Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA). Provides Quality Assurance (QA) review of maintenance and supply plans; identifies and corrects deficiencies in required logistic support elements necessary to maintain supported systems. Assists Inventory Managers (IMs) as required; including parts management and allowancing analysis and support. Monitors diminishing sources of supply and provides recommendations to the PL/CT managers. Develops procurement packages, conduct adequate market research, and complete Purchase Descriptions (PD) and Repair Descriptions (RD) as required. Inspects frustrated material and assist with resolving material receipt discrepancies. Assists in resolving Quality Deficiency Reports (QDRs) & Supply Deficiency Reports (SDRs). Assists and provides recommendations regarding review of excess material/supply..

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Must have the ability to (1) collect, analyze, interpret, and provide specialized information about equipment together with related advice to those who design, test, produce, procure, supply, operate, repair, or dispose of equipment; (2) identify and recommend practical solutions to engineering design and manufacturing defects and recommend use of substitute testing or support equipment when equipment requested is unavailable; and (3) develop, install, inspect, or revise equipment maintenance programs and techniques.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Possesses a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in Fleet Logistics System (FLS), tracking property items in Oracle Fixed Assets Management (FAM), practical experience of equipment and its characteristics, properties, and uses.
