Job Description

The Application Analyst utilizes his/her knowledge of the client's clinical or business requirements, application capabilities, and his/her technical skills to implement and support applications. The incumbent is responsible for the implementation of new applications, upgrades and modifications to existing systems. The incumbent will also work on application configuration, go-live support, and on-going client support. He/she works on multiple projects concurrently. The Application Analyst provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization's mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.

Responsibilities:

* Utilize knowledge of the client's clinical or business requirements and his/her advanced technical skills to implement and support applications such as One Content and EPIC.
* Work on the EPIC HIM Release of Information, Hospital Coding and Deficiency Tracking applications.
* Perform a thorough analysis of workflows, data collection, report details and other technical issues associated with EPIC software
* Prepare detailed requirements specifications and provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and configuring systems and procedures that meet user requirements.
* Review and test new releases and document all outcomes of testing and serve as the support contact for the application.
* Support system upgrades and perform on-call, rotational end-user support.
* Assist the teams responsible for ensuring effective procedures are in place for planned and unplanned downtime.
* Assist Interface Analyst, as needed, to maintain/monitor interfaces.
* Follow-up, troubleshoot and resolve problem tickets generated both internally and externally.
* Assist Database Administrator, as needed, with monitoring activities and system health checks.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree or Equivalent Experience.
* Certifications in Epic HIM modules: Identity, ROI-Release of Information, Hospital Coding, Deficiency Tracking. Candidates that can demonstrate their ability to pass EPIC Certification will also be considered. Meeting all requirements for EPIC Certification is a condition of employment.
* Prior experience working in HIM, Healthcare Operations or in IT.
* Application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience.
* Knowledge of HIM (Health Information Management).
* Programming or other technical skills; logic analysis.
* Project management skills are a plus - (leading meetings, prioritizing, resolving conflict, maintaining issues list, and/or managing a project plan).
* Experience supporting end users.
* Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Presentation skills.
* Strong desktop skills including Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Ability to provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for end-user support on a rotating basis.
