Position Overview:

This entry level Business Intelligence Data Engineer (BI Data Engineer) position will learn to design, develop, enhance, debug, support, maintain and test Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud solutions that support the Molex business. These solutions may involve diverse platforms, software, technologies and tools providing for a challenging and exciting environment. The position will be involved in all aspects of providing these solutions from design, development to implementation. The participant will not have direct reports but will be part of larger teams requiring excellent communication and collaboration skills with other technical groups as well as business leaders. Individuals should be able to work with supervision and with general guidance as they deliver superior solutions to be used by the Molex business.

Essential Functions:

* Create technical design/specification documentation.
* Help team members in design and development.
* Stay up to date with the latest emerging technologies in data lake scenarios and use cases.
* Understand Business Requirement documents and technical specifications.
* Work with team members to communicate and ensure understanding of requirements and tasks.
* Develop programs and solutions using appropriate technologies and provide ongoing support in responsible areas.
* Provide test plans and execute technical and functional tests of solutions to verify desired results. Evaluate results and coordinate modifications necessary to meet the requirements.
* Define, organize, develop and track the progress of solutions by applying project management techniques. Identify issues and risks and manage these to provide the solution to the business in the timeline promised. Communicate to management direction, status and issues through status reports and meetings.
* Develop and maintain all system related documentation.
* Follow established methodologies during system development and ensures that systems adhere to the standards and procedures established by the IT department.

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related systems and programming degree.
* Internship or 6 months' experience applying fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments and working with system development life cycle methodologies.

Ideal candidate will have the following Skills and Abilities:

* Basic knowledge of cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Azure.
* Overall knowledge of Data Warehouse and data modeling concepts.
* Good programming skills with knowledge of R, Python and SQL.
* Good understanding of data extract and transformation concepts ETL/ELT.
* Understand system integration concepts.
* Relational and OLAP database development skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills and debugging of applications.
* Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
* Must be able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
* Critical thinking and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
