Job Description

Overview

The Enterprise Services Project Manager will provide leadership, coordination, and management in the delivery of highly complex projects within Enterprise Services. This role will need to provide analytical expertise for the process excellence capability and the broader organization to drive continuous improvements, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity. The project manager will interact with corresponding levels of management and departments across the organization.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

* Support the development of recommendations for the improvement of business processes, operational efficiencies and internal controls (BPM/Business Process Mgmt)
* Become more familiar with and help implement lean techniques and methodologies during project execution in order to achieve defined project objectives
* Serve as change agent by stimulating, communicating and institutionalizing process excellence initiatives
* Lead strategic projects within the Enterprise Services portfolio
* Prioritize, clearly communicate, and monitor the successful and timely completion of corporate initiatives for quality outcomes
* Collaborate with business unit stakeholders to ensure project goals are being met
* Provide proactive reporting of projects which include the development of CARs and periodic status documentation throughout the life cycle of each project
* Provide proactive risk management, identify risks and provide mitigation options
* Maintain confidentiality when working on restricted or sensitive initiatives
* Effectively identify issues critical to the business or department, collect information and make sound recommendations while pro-actively challenging the status quo
* Make timely decisions related to conflicts and/or issues requiring immediate attention
* Leverage the open-door policy to foster new ideas and perspectives
* Help drive a consistent level of quality, accuracy, compliance to departmental standards, state and federal regulations, and internal controls
* Implement team member and self-development opportunities

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge

* Must exhibit strong knowledge of GM Financial or another auto finance company core business functions, policies and procedures
* Must be proficient in the use of basic applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Word)
* Must possess good knowledge and expertise in Enterprise project management, methodologies and tools
* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
* Lean Six Sigma Green/Black belt certification (desired)
* Project Management Professional certification (desired)

Skills

* Strong abilities with active listening and communicating effectively with others both verbally and in writing
* Strong abilities in proactively building relationships with business partners
* Ability to use good analysis and judgment when solving problems or making decisions
* Ability to utilize Microsoft Office to create effective and efficient deliverables (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Project)
* Ability to learn business architecture programs (i.e., Sparx Systems' Enterprise Architect)
* Ability to learn business process modeling best practices (i.e. BPMN 2.0)
* Ability to demonstrate integrity in the management of work demands and pressures
* Ability to continually pursue personal development
* Must be a self-starter, able to operate efficiently within given parameters and deadlines

Experience

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science or related field required
* Recently acquired knowledge from Lean Six Sigma training (preferred)
* Recent Project Management lifecycle training (preferred)
* Minimum 3 years of experience in project management required
