SUMMARY

Hulu's Content Platform team is looking for a strong engineering manager to lead our Content Workflow and Publishing team. This team is responsible for normalizing all metadata and orchestrating video on demand (VOD) transcode for the Hulu platformYou will have strong communication skills, both within engineering teams and with partners across the business. Finally, you will be passionate about career development and have a consistent track record of attracting, hiring, and developing engineering talent.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Build a great software development team through a combination of training, career development, recruiting, and process improvement
* Work with senior engineers on your team to define the next generation architecture for Hulu's content ingestion and publishing workflows
* Coach and mentor other engineers on the team to ensure that all software conforms to the highest quality standards
* Evangelize your team's work across all organizations at Hulu

WHAT TO BRING

* Demonstrated ability to attract talent, build teams and have fun
* 5+ years of in it software development experience; at least 1 year leading teams
* Expertise with core computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures
* Exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-throughput web application
* Great communication and collaboration skills and a team-focused approach towards software development
* Strong proficiency in full stack development including Java and/or Python plus Javascript with React

NICE-TO-HAVES

* Background in streaming media platform development
* Working knowledge of workflows, knowledge graphing, and gateway API architecture
* Experience working in AWS
* Proficiency with performance tuning and monitoring tools
