Job Description

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

We're looking for a motivated and capable Engineering Manager to lead and grow an engineering team that will help us scale an order of magnitude or more from where we are now. This role is critical to driving our purchase lending volume by increasing loan application conversion rates.

What You'll Do

* Lead, grow and scale out a full-stack engineering team
* Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and other teams to define and deliver on our product and technical roadmaps
* Establish an inclusive work environment that inspires autonomy, transparency, high degree of craftsmanship and personal growth
* Evangelize software development best practices and set a high engineering bar
* Facilitate technical discussions and plans to improve our software quality
* Plan, design, communicate and implement reliable, scalable and extensible software systems

What We Look For

* Driven to change consumer financial services for the better
* Prior experience leading a product growth focused engineering team
* Prior experience with A/B testing and experimentation
* Fluent in full-stack development (we use React/Redux + Python/Flask)
* Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining complex products
* Strong focus toward user experience
* Strong cross-team communication and collaboration
