About the Role

The Uber Eats Mobile Platform team is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to help set the foundation and future direction for the Uber Eats Android and iOS mobile apps.

What You'll Do

You will define the vision and roadmap for Uber Eats Mobile Platform. You will be the team lead responsible for its execution and delivery. You must be a technical manager who is able to understand the technical details of projects and to drive the technical roadmap of the team.

* Drive vision & strategy for building the Mobile platform layer on which all the Uber Eats mobile developers will utilize for building new features
* Lead a team of experienced senior engineers to deliver this Platform
* Manage stakeholders building products on top of the platform
* Engage externally with industry partners and the mobile community through blog posts, conference presentations, and open source

What You'll Need

The ideal candidate will be highly technical with a strong background building modern mobile apps on iOS or Android (ideally both).

* 3-5 years of engineering management experience plus prior experience as a mobile engineer
* Passionate about building high-quality platforms for other developers
* Experience building iOS and Android apps using Swift, Objective-C, Java or Kotlin.
* Experience building mobile application frameworks.
* Experience managing senior engineers, tech leads, and other managers.
* Experience in performance and optimization projects

Bonus Points If

* Experience building modern mobile apps on iOS or Android

The Uber Eats Mobile Platform team sets the foundation and future direction for the Uber Eats Android and iOS mobile apps. They focus on building out foundational architecture, setting design patterns, improving app performance, and promoting healthy app development processes. They are passionate about cutting edge mobile development and adopt the best in modern mobile development technologies. They use the latest open source technologies, but build new technologies where necessary and release to open source.
