Engineer Web Products Lead

Position Summary

The Engineer Web Products Lead leads development teams in designing, testing, and implementing rich client side applications. In addition to leading and delegating work to other developers

the lead engineer may be responsible for standardization of documentation, code review, promoting industry standard best practices, performing detailed estimates and completing finalized solution designs/ diagrams. The Engineer Web Products Lead role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex technology related terminology and capabilities to business and non-technical professionals. The Engineer Web Products Lead will maintain innovative, scalable solutions that provide value to JetBlue business initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

* Develop, design, code, debug and document hybrid and front end user interface applications in a variety of software languages(e.g., Java, Objective-C, Javascript, HTML5, CSS)
* Provide input and guidance on development and architecture decisions with regard to front end projects; collaborate with other engineers
* Mentor junior developers with regard to code practice and design decisions
* Work with business owners to plan and estimate project logistics
* Delegate specific development related tasks to team members.
* Evaluate new technologies and determine viability per solution.
* Analyze system specifications and provide task specific estimates
* Participates in code reviews to insure high quality and consistent coding practices
* Partners with data center operations and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless deployments, proper documentation and support for applications
* Ensure that JetBlue IT and business standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with Company policies and that work practices are in line with all audit, security and regulatory requirements
* Ensure continued accountability for product and services delivery within assigned business units and across IT
* Provide direct or indirect oversight of delivery teams for applicable portfolio initiatives
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through Four (4) years of previous experience and education
* Six (6) years' HTML4, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery and CSS development
* Three (3) years' experience with Javascript OR Objective-C
* Four (4) years leading other developers on mid to large scale front end projects
* Experience with MVC or other end user client design patterns
* Experience with RESTful, JSON, XML, SOAP web services
* Demonstrated ability to code complex UI designs in modular, well architected manner; experience with responsive design
* Familiarity with backend architectures
* Experience with or ability to quickly learn and implement analytics API's such as Omniture, Bright Tag or other industry standard analytics tools.
* Working knowledge of Photoshop
* Available for moderate overnight travel (up to 35%)
* In possession of valid travel documents and the ability to travel in and out of the United States
* Able to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short notice
* Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
* Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

* Thorough knowledge of business function and thorough knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies
* Exposure to JetBlue's IT disciplines and interdependencies
* Exposure to JetBlue's business units and how their needs drive IT strategy
* Working on enterprise-wide budget process

* Regular attendance and punctuality
* Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
* Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
