Job Description

An Engineer 2 is part of a key team of Nordstrom Product platform that provides single soure of product information across channels from Desktop, Native mobile apps, NRHL (Nordstrom Rack & HauteLook) etc. This is a key role in building modern architecture ingesting data from multiple vendors and syndicating the data with low latency and highly performance solutions using AWS. These technology products and solutions provide amazing and seamless customer experiences while meeting the needs of the business. The scope, responsibility and accountability is at the function level.

A day in the life…

* Design, develop, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems for Nordstrom product services
* Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models and proof of concepts for customer profile services
* Develop modern, large scale RESTful Micro Services for use by internal teams in a fast paced Retail environment to support customer profile components.
* Responsibility for dealing with challenging technical issues
* Implement or modify all aspects of an application design - high performance design, coding, caching mechanisms, security, encryption, state management, error logging, debugging, scalability, code reviews, development environment configuration, and testing.
* Modernize the product information web services utilizing cloud technologies such as AWS.
* Resolve complex engineering problems
* Proficiency in Java or any other programming language, No sql data store (Dynamo/Mongo)

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
