Job Summary:

Seeking software engineer with a Dev/Ops mentality to join our lean agile team. Responsibilities include analysis, design, documentation, development, testing, monitoring, and operation of robust, redundant, high performance systems that collect and process billions of transactions daily, utilizing the latest technologies.

Core Responsibilities:

* Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify business and technical requirements.
* Creates technical requirements and design documentation, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports.
* Displays expertise in process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design, and technical choices to internal audiences.
* Designs new web and backend integration applications; Customizes current applications and supports applications in production.
* Commits and delivers software on time, to specification, and within budget.
* Assists with software deployments and feature releases.
* Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
* Assists in tracking and evaluating system performance metrics.
* Keeps current with technological trends within the industry.
* Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
* Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills:

* Java development in cloud platforms (Pivotal Cloud Foundry and AWS)
* Java development for modern micro-service/server-less context
* Spring framework and Spring Boot
* Distributed messaging queues (Kafka, Rabbit MQ, AWS Kinesis)
* Apache Spark streaming
* Elasticsearch
* Kubernetes/Docker
* GOCD
* Relational/SQL (Oracle, Amazon Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
* NoSQL (MongoDB, Amazon DynamoDB, Couchbase, etc.)

Recommended Skills:

* 5+ years as a software developer
* Agile/Scrum Team Experience
* Jira a plus

Education Level:

* Bachelor Degree or Equivalent

Field of Study:

Computer Science or Engineering
