Key Responsibility

The successful candidate will operate within the global management model with responsibility to:

* Fathom the technical strategy for emerging database technologies with concentration in the NoSQL and cloud spaces
* Lead the evaluation and adoption of new capabilities in the data store realm.
* Liaise, educate and advise business areas on database strategy, data enablement and best practices.
* Lead complex project efforts to determine technical scope and execution plan in partnership with sister organizations like security and infrastructure.
* Lead incident, security and performance reviews.
* Perform ongoing performance analysis, tuning and optimization
* Automate redundant / recurring database tasks
* Provide mentoring to other DBAs and perform as SME
* Support initiatives in Agile frameworks across multiple business units

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to present technology topics to business and leadership audiences with a proven track record in driving quality, advocacy for process improvement and leading of technical strategic decisions.

Job Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering, technology related field or equivalent experience
* Have a minimum of 10 years' experience as a data professional
* 5+ years in database management, testing, scripting, or configuration
* High degree of knowledge across multiple data store platforms
* Proficiency with Cloud providers (particularly AWS) and open source software

The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate a high degree of competence in

Preferred Criteria:

* Experience with the following NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis or Snowflake
* Experience with the following technologies: GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation, python, kafka, spark, kubernetes, Docker.
* Experience or certification with AWS solutions leveraging database platforms.
* Experience with Agile, Pivotal Cloud Foundry and continuous delivery environments
* Experience with 20+ TB databases
* Experience leading adoption of new technologies
* Experience with security standards and procedures like encryption, redaction and tokenization
* Masters degree in a technology related discipline
* Experience with the P&C insurance industry.
* Public speaking experience
