Job Description

Fluke Networks is looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated Embedded Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers. Your ability to drive Innovation forward at a fast pace and respond quickly and confidently to change is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

* Lead a diverse team of software engineers responsible for developing innovative new handheld test and measurement products.
* Responsible for employee hiring, training, career development planning, and any disciplinary activities.
* Develops the technical competence in staff to close skill gaps and to achieve satisfactory succession planning.
* Work with other functional managers and support groups to define development goals, deliverables, and resource requirements for projects.
* Ensures teams are considering the use of leading-edge technology and keeping pace with revolutionary and innovative trends in their fields.
* Oversees and manages team deliverables to project teams and sustainment activities.
* Proactively tracks metrics for teams' work to ensure efforts are on track, reacts to issues.
* Influences others within the organization to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
* Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
* At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a software engineer and were devoted to mastering the craft.
* At least 3 years of experience leading a development team.
* Managed embedded software development projects and engineers.
* Experience working through the design, development, release cycle, and delivering software products to market.
* Experience working on cross-functional teams (Hardware, Mechanical, Marketing, Production, etc.) in all phases of system development and qualification.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, meeting facilitation skills, critical thinking, negotiation, and problem-resolution skills.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Shipped multiple Linux-based products
* Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices
* Experience with networking technologies and electronic test equipment
* Familiar with software version control systems, especially GIT (local & cloud)
