Job Description

The EGS (Energy & Global Security) Security Manager guides all aspects of management oversight and support for Directorate/Division programs using sensitive but unclassified or classified information following laboratory processes and procedures and Federal security regulations. To serve as a subject matter expert to directorate and division programs on the proper handling and protection of sensitive and classified material.

In this position, the EGS Security Manager will:

* Provide consultative support between the directorate/division and laboratory security operations managers and programs.
* Lead Directorate and Division Management in all aspects of security compliance under various security guidelines of DOE and other Federal Agencies, as applicable.
* Direct the security of programmatic work products by leading a group of approximately 30 derivative classifiers.
* Implement oversight and guidance on Information Assurance to support the EGS Directorate and Divisions.

Position Requirements

* Bachelor's and 10+ years or graduate degree and 6+ years of experience.
* Strong knowledge of DOE, other federal sponsors, and laboratory security regulations and guidelines to support directorate and division compliance.
* Considerable knowledge of physical and operational security facility requirements.
* Considerable knowledge of security clearance authorities and requirements.
* Considerable experience as a derivative classifier.
* Considerable knowledge of operational security.
* Considerable skill in oral and written communication. This includes strong capability to interact with staff to provide clear guidance on security related subjects.
* Ability to develop and present training material.
* Good knowledge of Cyber security.
* Good knowledge of computer systems operations and functionality.
* Some knowledge of software development.
* Some knowledge of areas of non-proliferation, critical infrastructure, risk and/or vulnerability analysis are a plus.
* An active TS or Q Security Clearance is a requirement.
