Job Description

Germanna Community College is one of the twenty-three community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System. It is a two-year public institution of higher education established in 1970. The College takes pride in serving the residents of Caroline, Culpeper, King George, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania, and Stafford counties and the City of Fredericksburg. The College is governed by policies set by the State Board for Community Colleges with support and advice from the Germanna Community College Board. Primary funding for the College is provided by the State, supplemented by contributions from seven counties and one city and by student tuition. Job Description: Germanna Community College is accepting applications for the position of a part-time Testing Services Proctor. This positon provides essential services to students, faculty and visitors in a friendly, professional manner; performs a variety of clerical/administrative tasks to support the efficient daily operations of the Testing Centers; and supports student/campus initiatives, events and other campus departments as needed. The proctor provides top-notch customer service, answers the telephone, and replies to emails. The proctor assists with the daily operations of a high-volume testing office. Some duties of the proctor include: Securely administering computerized and written exams including, but not limited to, placement tests, HESI, TEAS, KAPLAN, academic course exams, computer competency tests, and exams for other Virginia Community Colleges; implementing procedures and applying policies and regulations in Testing Services; ensuring the integrity and security of all exams; providing consistent information on testing policies and procedures to students, faculty, and other current and prospective examinees; securing and maintaining testing information as well as accurate records and files; entering student statistical data in an Access database; maintaining a secure and quiet environment for testing; and performing other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

.? High school diploma or equivalent. ? One to three years of clerical experience in an office setting. ? Two years of strong customer service along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ? Proficient computer operations and basic computer troubleshooting. ? Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook for basic/moderate level functions. ? Ability to quickly master new computer applications; strong accurate data entry skills; and attention to detail. ? Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure at times; and must be a team player. ? Good telephone etiquette skills and understanding of phone systems. ? Ability to adapt to changes in work tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. ? Must be able to work alone at times while independently making sound decisions and work with minimal supervision. ? Ability to work flexible hours are required, including the ability to work mornings and evenings as well as rotating weekends at any campus location. ? Completion of required certifications within 90 days of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

? Associate's degree or equivalent level of training and experience. ? At least one year of experience administering and proctoring assessment tests and college level exams. ? At least one year of experience working in a post-secondary educational environment, preferably in testing or student services. ? Pearson VUE Certification.
