Job Description

The ECCE Web and Systems Developer is responsible for the design and management of a centralized Customer Relationship Management system. This role will be accountable for data accessibility, process efficiency, and proactively enhancing the team's ability to best support the Office of Early College and Career Education's mission to support all students, parents, and staff in Chicago Public Schools.

Key Functions:

● Build and manage new Customer Relationship Management tool in support of the Office of Early College and Career Education's mission to support all students, parents, and staff in Chicago Public Schools

● Analyze, design, implement, and test software applications

● Develop and maintain an automated system of data flow from strategic vendors to a variety of accountability measures

● Manage internal data portals in support of access to data and activities that are critical to increasing student success.

● Build and maintain web-based data tracking and reporting tools to support a variety of CPS program administration.

● Coordinate the strategic linkage of several district student data systems.

● Collaborate with Information & Technology Services (ITS) to plan and implement upgrades to database and web environments. Includes hardware, software, and architecture changes.

● Assist in determining key future data collection and reporting tools based on finding from external research, literature reviews, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications/Skills:

An excellent candidate will be a self-starter who demonstrates strong analytical thinking, a passion for problem solving, effective communication and teamwork skills, the ability to learn and adapt quickly amidst new and shifting priorities, and passion for improving urban public education. More specifically:

● Experience building Salesforce or similar CRM applications (APEX, VisualForce, SOQL, SOSL)

● Experience building web applications, using combinations of Javascript, HTML, Python, Java, C#, etc.

● Strong SQL skills

● API integration and/or development experience

● Exceptional written, verbal, organizational, and technology skills.

● Self-starter with ability to conduct multiple projects concurrently, both independently and as a member of a collaborative team.

● A track record of success as demonstrated by superior academic and professional achievement.

● Intense intellectual curiosity and desire to get to the root cause.

● Team player comfortable working with a variety of people and capable of leading a group towards a common goal.

● Flexible and comfortable working on a variety of assignments at a given time. Able to balance competing priorities and deadlines.

● Ability to function effectively in a large, complex organization.

● Prior project management experience and/or experience in education preferred.

Education:

Minimum High School Diploma/GED

Employment Expectations:

● As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), an employee must be an actual resident of the City of Chicago or be willing to become a resident within six months of the date of his/her employment with Chicago Public Schools. For certain high-needs positions, exemptions to this policy may be available.

● All new hires must satisfactorily complete all CPS on boarding requirements which include, but are not limited to, passing a tuberculosis test, drug test and state and federal criminal background checks. CPS is a drug and alcohol free workplace.
