Job Description

E-Discovery Project Coordinator

This is a senior level position responsible for coordinating all technical aspects and assisting with strategic and legal aspects for all assigned projects and matters involving electronic discovery. Serves as the primary point of contact throughout the discovery lifecycle, applying in-depth knowledge and experience to provide expert consultation and advice on technology and best practices. Consults with case teams to effectively develop and apply technical strategies, requirements and goals in order to develop and implement project plans, including data collection, processing, document production and trial. Acts as the primary point of contact and liaison for electronic discovery issues between the legal team and the contractor(s) to ensure proper communication between the parties. Advises the legal team on technology options to respond to specific discovery needs including but not limited to recommendations for products to perform early case assessment, document search, and document reviews in the most efficient, timely, and cost effective manner. Participates in legal proceedings, i.e. 26(f) conferences, prepares affidavits, and testifies as to the defensibility of the government's e-discovery process. Ensures standard procedures for electronic discovery and litigation support projects are consistently applied across the life of the case. Develops cost estimates and advises on maximizing efficiencies and cost reductions. Oversees the creation of statistical reports providing information on collection, filtering, processing, review and productions. Delegates appropriate workflow tasks, including data management, processing, production and quality control. Coordinates efforts of others in response to discovery requests and provides regular reports and metrics as to the status of each phase of the project. Stays abreast of emerging electronic discovery litigation support technology and processes. Maintains current knowledge of available software applications and in area(s) of expertise. Conducts regular briefings on new technology and process improvements with regard to electronic discovery.

The candidate will perform essential litigation support tasks including the below:

* Provide litigation support services, including the oversight of collection and production of ESI, paper documents and materials from government agencies and external parties;
* Process, upload, and interpret data received from external parties;
* Review, analyze, and interpret documents and other materials;
* Maintain an inventory of materials produced pursuant to subpoena, and prepare outlines and/or logs of documents/materials produced;
* Create and maintain a database and system for processing electronically stored information ("ESI");
* Plan and coordinate efforts with law enforcement agencies involved in litigation team activities, including recommending best practices and procedures for collecting and producing ESI using available software;
* Organize voluminous case information for efficient retrieval through automated means such as processing ESI, scanning, indexing, and production of documents into a database;
* Oversee and handle document organization and management for efficient electronic storage and retrieval by processing ESI, defining deduplication scope, quality control, preparing appropriate indices, defining data field search criteria, and indexing databases;
* Draft and compile chronologies and logs of key data and information;
* Liaison with the taint/privilege review team of AUSAs regarding privilege review;
* Liaison with AUSAs in the Criminal and Civil Divisions regarding sharing of key information;
* Liaison with law enforcement agencies, defense counsel, and third-party vendors concerning documents and investigative strategy;
* Conduct on-site review and organization of physical documents and materials;
* Assist in the preparation of graphical presentations, demonstrative exhibits, and government presentations;
* Coordinate with third-party vendors as needed;
* Oversee and handle systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
* Manage and operate a database of several thousand documents, operated by the Relativity document review platform;
* Organize information in summary fashion in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel;
* Optimize systems performance and identify components to improve overall systems performance;
* Manage and operate a variety of electronics, including PCs, laptops, printers, plotters, audio-video devices, including HDMI TVs and DVD/Blu-ray players, and equipment to conceptualize exhibits and complete special presentation projects.
* Determining the most appropriate principles, practices, and methods to apply in all phases of assignments, including the approach to be taken, degree of intensity, and depth of research.

A DOJ MBI is required to begin employment. For this position, CACI has the ability to provide clearance sponsorship for qualified individuals.

Qualifications:

Requires an Undergraduate degree. Certification in e-Discovery program also preferred. Requires a minimum 5 years' experience providing e-Discovery services and litigation support on large, complex cases involving complex e-Discovery challenges. A familiarity with criminal/civil law at the federal level is preferred. Prior knowledge and experience managing e-Discovery projects and related technologies required. Advanced experience planning e-Discovery efforts, managing client expectations, and working with clients to minimize their risk exposure. Extensive experience with Relativity, iPro, LawPrediscovery, SQL, NUIX, Concordance, iConnect, CaseMap, Palantir, etc. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF; Experience analyzing incoming electronic data to determine appropriate processing requirements. Experience with performing complex searches, managing the technical administration of document reviews and producing data to outside parties using common litigation support platforms, particularly the Relativity document review platform. Experience working directly with a variety of technical and non-technical users. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet tight deadlines. Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills; and United States Citizenship and a passage of a federal background investigation.
