Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineering Intern - Summer 2019

Shure offers a challenging and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve week program is offered to undergraduate students that have completed at least 2 years of college, as well as graduate students. Each intern will receive a competitive salary and students who reside out of Illinois will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.

Digital Signal Processing is a critical part of many Shure products, such as wired and wireless microphones, mixers, and conferencing products. Shure's Digital Signal Processing Intern will have the opportunity to work on various phases of DSP development, including audio algorithm simulation, implementation on DSP hardware, objective measurements and subjective listening tests. The DSP Intern will assist with debugging of real-time systems and documentation of algorithm performance.

Requirements:

* Completed at least two years of coursework in Electrical or Computer Engineering with an emphasis in Digital Signal Processing.
* An interest and/or experience in Audio is required
* Experience with Matlab required. Experience with Simulink a plus.
* Experience with C, C++ or Assembly language programming.
* Experience designing any audio DSP software or hardware, including Matlab simulations.
* Basic understanding of developing software for embedded processors such as microcontrollers, digital signal processors, or FPGAs.
* Comfortable with test and measurement equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, function generators and audio analyzers.
* Experience with studio recording or live sound is a plus.
* Experience writing Linux applications is a plus.
