Role Summary:The mission of the Solution Design function is to ensure best in class and optimal technical design to meet customer functional and non-functional requirements, project budget and timescales. For Asset Control projects (EMS, DMS, Analytics, O&G), Solution Architect drives, validates and audits design of Software Solution during different phases of project execution. Phases begin from Tendering stage & until system acceptance at customer site (Scope review, SOW, solution review, FAT, SAT).
Essential Responsibilities:
Solution Design Engineer works closely with Delivery manager, Solution design members (Architects and Technical experts), Application engineering team, Tendering team and Product Development team.
For Asset Control project execution within the software delivery organization,
In coordination with the delivery management function, responsible for interacting with customers, in order to define, produce and maintain optimal System Designs:
Physical and Logical Architecture (secure and function)
Requirements Traceability Matrix
Business Process Maps
Functional Design Specifications
Responsible for the communication and enforcement of Design to Customer and Key Project Stakeholders
Manage involvement of Application Engineering and make sure their design contributions meet system architecture functional and non-functional requirements
Contribute to all key stages of project (FAT/SAT/Project Governance) and responsible for solution review gates
Responsible for design documentation
Collaborate with Tendering to ensure optimal technical proposals
Ensure that proposed architectures and designs are according to best practices and are optimal
Ensure that all proposed solutions can be delivered
Ensure maximal re-usability of design information across the various geographies
Support tendering team during customer interactions
Collaborate with Product development (R&D)
To ensure that requirements resulting from return of experience from SWD projects (ease of delivering and integrating the systems, designs aspects, non-functional requirements) are conveyed to Product Management and Product Development leaders for inclusion into product development lifecycle management (PLCM). This is particularly important in the context of product convergence
As part of PLCM, review product development designs and provide SWD views
As part of PLCM, contribute with SWD industrialization and SWD test management function to put in place and actively contribute to the new product introduction process
As part of PLCM, make sure product documentation and especially designs and functional documents include operation oriented information and are up to date in SWD document referential
Build technical expertise in the field of the arhitect's segment or domain
Drive excellence in execution through continuous improvement that segment or domain:
Use of the same tools across the geographies
Use of the same common processes across geographies
Industrialization of standards systems
Architecture and design of complex solutions (solutions made of several products or crossing multiple segments)
Participating for knowledge capitalization and dissemination across the solution design teams
By segments
By solutions and products
Quality
Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes in Quality Management System and on site
In his segment or domain with delegation of the Global Solution Design leader, process owner for SWD solution reviews and contributors to tendering scope reviews
Report or resolve any non-conformances and process in a timely manner
Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent Bachelor's degree.
At least 5 years' experience in software delivery organization, with operation (project delivery) background and system design. Industry knowledge in the field of operation and multi sites project organizations
Eligibility Requirements:

Ability to travel in all countries (Europe, North America, Latin America Middle-East, Asia, India). <25%
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Melbourne FL or Redmond WA.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable presenting technical design, technical solutions and enterprise architecture solutions to clients/customers,
English proficiency required (customer presentation); practice of other languages is a big plus.
