We're seeking a Director, Systems Architect based in our San Francisco, California office, Western Union's Digital Business headquarters. In this role, This role works across the Digital Engineering organization and with business partners to define and build out complex solutions driving value through business process simplification, automation and new product capabilities. You will play a critical role in designing and developing scalable, message based, event driven micro-service oriented systems that are the engine behind Western Union.

* This role leads the architecture of digital systems
* Participate in the design and documentation of new and enhanced services
* Lead technical innovations between internal teams and external strategic partners
* Take a leadership role in defining technical roadmap for products and technical components
* Consult, influence, develop and maintain roadmaps for all solution integration options ensuring alignment with business objectives
* Responsible for aligning services delivered from the capability owners
* Oversees interdependencies between interfacing technologies and their support teams
* Oversees highly complex, cross functional projects independently at a cross portfolio level in multiple domains.
* Communicates concepts, action plans crisply

What you will need to succeed:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
* Have 10+ Years of software development experience,
* 5+ years of team lead and software design experience
* Have strong communication skills, both oral and written
* Have strong presentation skills for presenting technology solutions to internal stakeholders and external partners
* Have strong software architecture design skills
* Have strong experience in Cloud (AWS/Azure/Google or Hybrid) based architecture designs and implementations
* Have experience with Agile software development practices and tools
* Have experience with SOA and micro-services design principles and patterns
