ROLE SUMMARY

As a member of the Digital & Technology Core Solutions organization, this role manages the Medical Affairs Core Solutions portfolio to create, configure and integrate core technology solutions to digitize, optimize and re-engineer business operations to achieve strategic imperatives and benefits for medical affairs teams that interact with HCPs to discuss various therapeutic areas This includes technical solutions for customer relationship management, content approval, insight tracking, and driving medical education.

The role is accountable for flawless implementation of new solutions and systems, and to provide leadership and guidance to technologists across the organization. The role will articulate the core solution vision, values and strategy to achieve a competitive advantage and to identify opportunities for differentiating Pfizer through core capabilities, services and solutions that focus on patients and outcomes, and leads the industry in adopting novel data, technology and digital solutions.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

* Lead and manage a technology portfolio of multiple global critical solutions, systems, tools or platforms for Medical Affairs
* Transform architectural and business concepts and requirements into robust technology designs and engineering configurations to deliver sustainable, core solutions for transactions, data management and analytics core solutions.
* Work closely with Client Partner organization to understand digital strategy and associated project requirements.
* Lead, oversee and contribute to matrix project teams including other Digital functions, service providers and external partners to deliver business value and achieve objectives.
* Apply both direct supervision and indirect influence to achieve desired outcomes for the programs for driving better interactions between medical outcome specialists and healthcare professionals.
* Accountable to business leaders for commitments and measured outcomes.
* Lead and collaborate with Product Managers and Application Support service providers to identify and improve systems, processes and services to meet service levels and business continuity needs to achieve desired outcomes from medical affairs interactions with customers.
* Applies a deep understanding of engineering, software development and technology management of solutions, tools and platforms.
* Promote ideas and innovations for core solutions by taking measured risks and articulating the vision and plan to achieve desired outcomes such as shorter cycle times for content approval and unleashing other channels for the medical affairs team to interact with healthcare professionals.
* Influence and communicate effectively new or complex ideas using varied tools and techniques to influence different audiences across organizations and stakeholders.
* Active leadership of approximately 10 indirect team members in an agile and fast-paced environment that adroitly embraces change, balances competing priorities and incorporate learnings.
* Responsible for a portfolio for multiple business lines with multiple projects (~5 to 10) and solutions (~10 to 20) with financial responsibility upwards of $5M in the execution of project delivery, engineering and implementation.Significant technical and data diversity (cloud, hosting, services, analytics, database, compute, cyber security, privacy and data aggregation, management and protection).
* Capabilities to act tactically and think strategically, and switch leadership styles to influence, guide and coach individuals and teams.
* Responsible to understand and follow all Pfizer policies, procedures, and Digital Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and work instructions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* BS in Computer Science, Science, Engineering or Business Management or related field
* 10+ years' experience as an information technology professional in one or many roles such as an architect, software developer, systems administrator, business partner, database administrator, systems engineer, computer engineer or support specialist.
* Knowledge and experience with evaluating and introducing emerging technology (digital, robotics, analytics, etc.) to accelerate innovation in medical affairs domain
* Deep understanding of the engineering, development, implementation and management of information technology solutions, tools and platforms.
* Demonstrated experience managing a large technology project or platform from beginning to value realization. Demonstrated capabilities with software development processes, systems design and development management, testing (unit, system, end user acceptance, performance, and load) and systems integration.
* Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of colleagues and other team members to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
* Demonstrated domain knowledge and experience in medical affairs processes
* Experience and understanding of existing and emerging healthcare industry data standards.
* Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high energy environment and comfort with operating in situations with ambiguity.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to synthesize information and create clear updates for senior leadership.
* Demonstrated experience managing financials, budgets and project forecasts, and negotiating with suppliers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience leading and influencing a matrix team of 20 plus members in a complex organization with multiple senior stakeholders to achieve outcomes at an enterprise or global scale.
* Ability to synthesize and organize numerous, complex requests to prioritize requirements, functions and features for greatest business value and manage stakeholder expectations.
* Demonstrated decision making capabilities for technologies, implementation priorities, resource management, make versus buy, suppliers and stakeholder requests.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to indirectly influence key partners and stakeholders with clear, concise and well-formed message tailored to the audience.
* Ability to articulate the strategic use and business value of digital technologies, data and analytics that advance Medical Affairs business imperatives and automate Medical Affairs processes.
* Capabilities to act tactically and think strategically, and switch leadership styles to influence, guide and coach individuals and teams.
