Job Description

Mission

As a member of the Customer Success organization, the Director of Resident Solutions Architecture is a lead role on the Strategic Growth and Adoption team, responsible for core aspects of net retention (increase growth, decrease churn), including player-coach responsibilities with Resident Solutions Architects. You will provide strategic leadership and direction for the delivery of post-sales services and support to Databricks high-value customers.

Outcomes

* Achieve regional team targets for growth and adoption in strategic accounts
* The primary goal for the role will be to grow platform usage and prevent churn in strategic accounts through owning and retiring a regional growth quota.
* Partner with account executives and customer success leaders while guiding Resident Solutions Architects to identify and grow platform adoption initiatives.
* Participate in the resolution of customer concerns on strategic accounts.
* Develop and oversee team programs
* Analyze operational processes, escalation procedures and perform training needs assessments for identifying opportunities for services delivery improvements and value add to customers.
* Hire and manage Resident Solutions Architects
* Manage a team of Resident Solution Architects to achieve team and company goals.
* Act in a player-coach capacity, including handling escalations, mentoring team members, building a career path for them etc.
* Develop standard operating procedures for efficient team operations.
* Billable project management
* Serve in a billable project manager role for strategic customers.
* Partner with Professional Services organization to provide resource allocation for billable engagements.

Competencies

* 5+ years of management experience as a managing consultant / delivery teams or solution architects.
* Minimum 5 years individual contributor experience as a hands on technical solutions architect that will enable you to act in a player-coach capacity with technical architects that report to you.
* Experience driving software platform adoption in Fortune 500 organization in verticals such as: Finance, Media, Retail, Telco, Energy, Healthcare.
* Able to design and implement a project schedule, and able to handle multiple urgent priorities.
* Self-motivated with a proven track record of customer engagement.
* Organized and analytical, adept at working in a fast-paced team environment.
* Solid understanding of Databricks products, Spark ecosystem, and direct competitors.
* Outstanding communication and customer relationship skills.
* Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced startup environment.
* Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, especially in big data solutions architecture.
* Up to 30% of travel required.

Preferred Competencies

* Experience as a pre-sales solutions architect or senior technical account manager.
* Experience with business value consulting or solution selling; driving renewals and up-sells in accounts.
* Strong presentation and communication skills.
* Experience translating customer business requirements and converting them into technical roadmaps.
* Experience using CRM or PSA systems (preferably Salesforce).
* Software Engineering experience.
* Masters Degree in Computer Science strongly preferred.
