Job Description

As a Director of Technology, you will exercise your strengths in consulting, customer engagement, and technology to help clients as they tackle the challenges of the evolving healthcare industry. In this role, you will work across the healthcare spectrum, with a focus on health insurers, pharmaceuticals, and providers. Our engagements range from enterprise-wide transformative digital strategies to tightly focused proofs-of-concept on emerging technologies.

Responsibilities:

* Help clients better understand the challenges and opportunities they are faced with, and scope and estimate the work required for them to best respond

* Shape and tell the story of how technology should fit into our client's thinking by understanding our client's perspective and elegantly explaining complex ideas

* Architect the optimal technical solution for our clients, based on your knowledge of the industry, relevant technologies and patterns, and the client's current technology

* Lead multiple teams in the delivery of digital experiences and systems, mentoring more junior team members and growing the team

* Provide thought leadership around the intersection of technology and healthcare, both internally to Sapient and externally to our clients and prospects

Do you have the following?

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience

* 10+ years' experience in systems integration, custom development, and package implementation (commercial / open-source)

* 7+ years' leading and building strong and collaborative development teams

* 5+ years' experience working with technology and healthcare, including working with EMR/EHR, claims management, and other Health IT systems, and HL7 standards such as CCD/CDA and FHIR

* Experience with coding standards such as ICD-9, ICD-10, SNOMED and MedDRA

* Experience developing connected systems in healthcare, with understanding and practical experience with EMR/EHR integration and interoperability enablers such as SMART on FHIR, Mirth Connect, and Direct/DirectTrust

* Deep knowledge and understanding of the underlying data and business / clinical flows associated with the above standards

* Firsthand experience loading data in the above standards into various data stores (e.g., relational databases, graph databases like Neptune, and/or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and CouchDB), and consuming that data for business intelligence and clinical reporting

* Deep understanding of the changing healthcare landscape (health insurer vertical integration, value-based care), and how technology will play a role in helping our clients adapt to and capitalize on these shifts as they evolve their business

* Understanding of the regulatory and legislative environment impacting healthcare (HIPAA, HITECH, MACRA, GDPR) and experience partnering across the organization to define solutions that maintain compliance with applicable PHI, PCI and other privacy and legal standards

* Ability to work full-stack (JavaScript/NodeJS, Python, Java, Gremlin, SQL, Python) and familiarity with and appreciation for service-based architectures

* The following qualifications are not necessary, but would help a candidate stand out:

* Experience with platforms such as Salesforce Health Cloud, SMART, Microsoft health technologies (e.g. Health Vault) and similar

* Experience with current software best practices, including continuous integration / continuous deployment, design / architectural patterns, agile methodologies, and the DevOps mindset

* Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., Docker) with enough experience to setup and maintain environments on cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure)

* Experience with native and/or hybrid mobile development (e.g., iOS, Android, PhoneGap, React Native, Ionic, etc…)
