What we are looking for:

The Director, Database Architecture is responsible for leading data solutions across the enterprise. This spans the gamut of high-level architecture and design to low level DML & DDL script development. This individual must therefore be able to listen and guide the extended team during planning sessions one day; and be able to immerse into complex data analysis triggered by unknown data quality defects the next day. We are looking for a knowledgeable, competent, team player that can support our Enterprise Architect as we expand globally.

What you will do:

* Lead data architecture decisions in concert with other designers, planners, and architects to ensure a highly scalable, extensible, and performant solutions.
* Provide strategic database solutions for our continual needs for database scalability and resiliency.
* Translate resulting architecture or resulting design into both logical and physical data models that comply with existing (and evolving) standards and practices.
* Perform DDL & DML script development from data model changes that can be used as migrations by application development teams.
* Support data quality and operational support efforts by performing trouble ticket analysis resulting in mitigation script development.
* Evaluate and implement new technologies and best practices.
* Lead a high performing, motivated team.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required (years of relevant experience may be substituted)
* 7+ years of work experience as an ETL Engineer/Developer on a data integration/ETL development team.
* 5+ years in people management.
* Experience delivering Data Integration solutions for large scale enterprise systems.

Preferred skills and competencies:

* Advanced Talend or Similar ETL Tool (Informatica, Datastage, Pentaho) experience.
* SSIS experience desired with an understanding of T-SQL.
* Salesforce experience preferred with knowledge of SOQL.
* Well versed in SQL development with advanced ANSI SQL skills. MySQL preferred.
* Experience working with data modeling methodologies and concepts.
* Working knowledge of data modeling concepts for both normalized OLTP systems and demoralized data-warehouses (star schema).
* Adept in understanding technical requirements and convert them into data flows.
* Ability to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.
* Works closely with teammates and ability to lead a team.
* Knowledge of cloud technologies is a plus.
