ConsumerTrack has big growth plans ahead and is looking for a Director of Data Engineering experienced in Cloud Platforms, Modern Data Architecture and Data Engineering to lead and expand the Data Engineering team. The CTI Data Engineering team is responsible for developing and maintaining the Enterprise Data Platform including a Serverless Data Lake, Cloud Data Warehouse and core data/application pipelines. If you are a critical thinker with a solid track record of building high performing teams, developing world-class data solutions and solving complex problems, we want you to join our team! You will play a vital role in designing and developing our next generation data platform.

The ideal candidate is a rising star in Data Engineering Leadership ranks and is someone that will challenge the status quo, bring new ideas to how we manage people, process and technology and is looking to expand their scope of responsibilities and to take on a diverse set of leadership challenges to grow their career.

Responsibilities:

* Lead, manage and mentor engineers in and outside the Data Engineering team to deliver high quality software projects using open source frameworks and Cloud Technologies
* Identify, recruit and hire engineering talent as we are in growth mode and expanding our Teams
* Leverage off-shore resources to compliment the in-house experience and talent
* Establish clear goals and performance objectives, set and manage expectations with the team, and communicate effectively and execute those goals within timelines
* Quickly become an expert on the existing product architecture, workflows and business domain
* Provide technical leadership to evangelize, build and implement modern cloud data architectures
* Collaborate and communicate effectively with Product, QA, Data and DevOps teams to release projects on time with high quality
* Report on progress to goals, current roadblocks, time estimations and results; along with any recommendations of incremental needs in order to speed up project timelines
* Participate in architecture, design and code reviews for the data engineering team
* Cultivate a DevOps culture and mindset from a development, testing and deployment perspective
* Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meets operational requirements - scalability, maintainability, flexibility, reliability and availability and manage production support SLAs

Requirements

* 7+ Years of data engineering management experience with a proven track record of leading engineering teams to deliver world class data solutions
* Proven track record of hiring and recruiting tech talent locally and globally. Hired 5+ people in the past 3 years. Experience with outsourcing is a plus
* Knowledge and experience with data engineering productivity tool chains and concepts (CI/CD, DevOps, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Agile Scrum / Kanban, etc.)
* Experience with architectural design for performance and scalability
* Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or related field of study
* Strong SQL and Python skills including knowledge of Python libraries / frameworks
* Comfortable working directly with data analytics to bridge business requirements with data engineering
* Experience with AWS Serverless technologies including Athena, S3, Kinesis, LAMBDA, and GLUE.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork, and a passion to learn and innovate
* Experience with Data Integration Technologies (Matillion, Pentaho, Talend, Informatica, etc.) is a plus
* Experience with Snowflake, Redshift or other MPP databases is a plus
* Experience with Airflow for orchestration is a plus
