Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Oracle is building an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) Public Cloud, and a large part of that effort is building a state of the art networking and load balancing capabilities. We are looking for exceptional software engineers with backgrounds in cloud services, and distributed systems.

The Load Balancer team is building a high performance, scale out and high availability offering that will be the foundation of a modern cloud system. You will be a part of the team founded by industry veterans from AWS, Google, OpenStack, Joyent and others, that will create the first enterprise-grade public cloud service. We believe that this team and its mission sits squarely at the center of Oracle's future and that this is an opportunity to rethink the way load balancing, networking, compute and storage systems interact and change the way applications are built.

We have engineering work at every layer of the stack, from the REST API to distributed systems, system tuning and performance. We are looking for teammates who are interested in being part of a team that innovates from top to bottom, and takes pride of ownership in owning the entire software lifecycle including test automation, global production operations and customer support. Qualifications:

Candidates should be passionate about distributed systems, cloud computing, and container management. Candidates will need to possess deep Computer Science expertise, and also excel at written and verbal communication.

Minimum Skills:

* A minimum of Bachelor's degree in any one of Computer Science/Engineering, Information Science/Technology, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field. A foreign equivalent degree is also accepted.
* Strong Proficiency in the Java (Java 8 ) programing language.
* Demonstrated experience building REST API based services.
* Strong expertise with highly scalable microservice architecture, distributed systems and Docker containers.
* Prior experience in a DevOps role including production deployment, operations and customer support.

Bonus Skills

* Experience with public clouds like AWS or Azure.
* Experience building solutions on the cloud public/private
* Working with Chef/Puppet/Ansible
* Familiarity with Agile
* Familiarity with code versioning tools like Git.
