POSITION SUMMARY:

BIT Systems, a CACI company, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help modernize a software baseline shared by multiple programs. The position will be responsible for updating and maintaining the applications and configuration of infrastructure services and work with the program teams to produce deployable software releases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Drive the transition from Red Hat 6 to Red Hat 7
* Develop and maintain best-practice Puppet configurations for various deliverable systems with the assistance of the software developers and system administrators
* Support the RPM build and deployment process for program application software

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and seven to nine years related work experience.

Required:

* Thrive in an energetic, fast-paced environment - learn and become productive quickly and meet team goals, can-do attitude, able to do what it takes to deliver.
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of an integrated team, as well as independently.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team building.
* 4+ years expertise with Linux service configuration and/or system administration
* 3+ years expertise with Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or similar automation tools
* Active Top Secret and eligible for SCI - to be upgraded to TS//SCI

Desired:

* Familiarity with Koji, tito, Jenkins
* RHCE certification
* Experience with X-MIDAS or Java
