Provides leadership in development strategy & planning for the Passenger Service Systems (PSS) Environment and advocates for quality and integrity in the design and implementation of SHARES TPF projects. Works with the business users, analysts, developers, and other IT teams to develop solutions in PSS Platform. Facilitate development of strategies and solutions which allow the PSS platform to interact across multiple disciplines/domains. Applies a broad range of ideas regarding TPF best practices, industry standards, data analysis and management. Consult in design of complex enterprise initiatives - and provide guidance to the SHARES TPF project teams. Recognized across the organization for SHARES expertise and is sought as a resource for resolution of complex PSS problems within their area(s) of expertise (Inventory, Gen Res, Ticketing, ACI)

Responsibilities:

* Leads design, development, and planning for TPF software solutions to solve complex business problems
* Hands-on development, Support and troubleshooting of software systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutions
* Ensures that systems are properly integrated
* Works with business, support, or development teams to recommend appropriate system enhancements
* Consults across multiple United Information Technology projects and technology areas to perform troubleshooting, problem management, root-cause analysis, and solution implementation
* Serves as a resource for technology/project development review and technical assessments
* Ensures that technical solutions meet the customer business requirements
* Provide consultation and technical expertise in project life cycle planning and execution
* Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of the TPF application development domain and related tool sets
* Ensures consistency and coherence to the enterprise standards and guiding principles throughout the application lifecycle
* Identifies opportunities to leverage/influence the direction for existing infrastructure and application components
* Keeps abreast of industry trends through benchmarking, participation in professional associations etc. in order to advise others of strategic technology direction
* Provides feedback to the enterprise technology owners and Architects regarding future solution needs
* Understands and applies the enterprise vision and strategy to the project solution while balancing tactical needs to deliver
* Partner with various business and IT stakeholders in defining domain architecture strategy
* Demonstrate knowledge of TPF application architecture andTPF system architecture constructs as it connects to the enterprise architecture

Required:

* BS/BA, preferably in a technical or scientific field or equivalent experience, education or training
* 2 or more years of experience in application design, development, installation and modification of software in the zTPF environment
* zTPF Assembler
* TPF/DF database design and develpment

* In depth knowledge of software engineering best practices such as versioning and versioning control, software packaging and software release management
* In depth knowledge of the zTPF application development environment and tool sets
* General knowledgeable of overall Technology & Systems integration
* General knowledge of IATA and related industry standards

Preferred:

* Masters Degree
* TPF C++
* SPM (Structured Programming Macros)
* SME in one or more Airline functional areas such as Ticketing, ACI, Schedules/Availability
