Designer, Product (Foursquare Labs, Inc.; New York, NY)

Use strong communication skills (verbal and written) to work closely with Engineers, Product Managers, Researchers, Analysts and the rest of the Design team to define the best approach to a problem and deliver exceptional product enhancements with the user in mind, ensuring optimal technical implementation and meeting scheduled deadlines. Contribute to product decisions and understanding the practical implications of those decisions. Help establish and reinforce consistent design patterns, being mindful of operating system paradigms and brand equity. Create appropriate documentation for the task at hand, ranging from low-fidelity sketches to annotated mockups for implementation by developers. Design and development of mobile-responsive front end web applications (CSS, HTML). Assist with product design initiatives from inception to deployment, including design research, user research, user testing, wireframes, user flows, prototypes, animations, high-fidelity designs, specs, asset delivery, and user assurance testing. Use data gathered from user testing and the Analytics team to partner in producing compelling, data-driven concepts and user flows. Partner in producing interactive prototypes and/or animations for the purpose of clearly communicating transitions and functionality to developers as well as a presentation tool for getting stakeholder approvals. Give and solicit feedback from fellow designers.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Multimedia Studies, Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field, plus 2 years of professional experience in working on all phases of product design for web or mobile application features (including requirement gathering, analysis, planning, and testing). Must also have the following: 2 years of professional experience in using Adobe Creative suite to create product design mockups and to design systems that can be used to build software applications; 2 years of front end web development experience in HTML or CSS; 1 year of professional experience in using Sketch to create product design mockups and to design systems; 1 year of professional experience in using prototyping tools (including InVision and Principle) to demonstrate the functionality of software application features; 1 year of professional experience in using Zeplin to collaborate with software engineers on product designs for software applications; 1 year of professional experience in using Terminal and Github to implement new design features into software code base.
