Job Description

CallisonRTKL seeks a Design Technology Specialist, with a strong concentration in computational design, to join its dynamic global Digital Design team in our Dallas, Texas office. Our work spans internationally across a large range of sectors, such as Shopping and Entertainment, Residential, Hospitality, Workplace, Specialty Retail, Healthcare, and Urban Planning.

We are looking for a passionate computational design and data driven design team member who can inspire others and is willing to engage with multiple sectors and offices in different time zones. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be self-driven and able to work independently and collaboratively with both the project teams and the global Digital Design group, show interest in current events, new processes, and new tools related to computational & generative design, and be an active participant in the computational design community.

While there will be direction and guidance, we want a self-motivator who finds and executes on opportunities to incorporate computational methodologies to dualistically stimulate computational thinking onto others along with the execution of the task at hand. Our ideal candidate will continuously contextualize their work, while balancing the immediate results with a parallel understanding of how it fits within the larger context of the sector and overall organization.

Responsibilities

* Promotes computational design and thinking within project teams and firmwide
* Develops computational and parametric tools and libraries
* Consults project teams on optimization, automation, interoperability, etc. within their projects
* Helps project teams with complex geometry solutions
* Researches, documents and delivers computational methods and design solutions
* Assists project teams with automating documentation processes and integrating
* Gives presentations of work related to computational workflows
* Selects, organizes and presents work for internal and external marketing
* Teaches computational design tools (Ex. Grasshopper, Dynamo, etc.)

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field
* 2+ years working solely with computational design on multiple projects
* Proficiency with Rhino, Grasshopper, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite, Dynamo and Revit
* Experience with web development and programming preferred
* Experience in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence preferred
* Experience with Python, C#, Java, Rhino or Revit APIs preferred
* Deep knowledge of addons, plugins and other open source resources
* Knowledge of environmental analysis processes, plugins
* Knowledge of Data Visualization tools such as Power BI preferred
* Knowledge of Data Management tools preferred
* Knowledge of additional visual scripting platforms preferred
* Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships
* Strong written, verbal communication
* Ability to problem-solve and exercise judgment and discretion
