We are seeking a design technologist to join our team for a brand-new initiative. AWS Internet of Things (IoT) Analytics & Applications team's goal is to deliver higher-order IoT services to help customers build solutions and integrate the benefits of IoT quickly, easily and cost effectively.

Imagine a world where connected devices and their data are ubiquitous. There will be 50 billion connected devices in 2020, and any powered device can become connected. What problems would you solve if you knew the state of everything in the world? Would you improve crop yields and fight hunger, enable fleets of autonomous electric vehicles to replace cars, save lives with medical equipment that orders a repair for itself, or make every home a smart home? Design technologists on the AWS IoT Applications Team are enabling customers to build this connected future.

We are looking for a design technologist to build user interfaces and share our vision for continuously improving the customer experience. You bring UX design and engineering expertise into a single discipline to develop and test prototypes of potential user experiences solutions. You will be responsible for creating prototypes of emerging experiences for testing with end-user research participants. You will prove UX concepts at a variety of fidelities, including working samples and reference code, throughout the design process. You are well versed in an appropriate mix of development and prototyping platforms and tools, and will select the best and most appropriate platform for the task. You will deliver code that is flexible and can be iterated upon, with an understanding of what to fake and what to make. The front-end interactions you bring to life will also inspire leaders to invest in new ideas, and guide developers in building the software.

As a design technologist on the team, you will:

* Actively participate in concept development and design iteration.
* Define optimal customer experience for building IoT solutions.
* Rapidly build and iterate on appropriate-fidelity prototypes that express design intent, using the best and most appropriate tools and techniques for the task.
* Develop functional prototypes to prove and sell concepts to development teams, senior leadership, and partners.
* Partner with engineering to ensure that interactive techniques and technologies translate through to shipping products and services.
* Be able to work creatively through and around perceived limitations and/or challenges imposed by the delivery platform to create delightful experiences for customers.
* Evaluate and document any new creative and/or engineering standards or patterns that could arise from your work.
* Effectively present and explain your prototype.
* Work as a part of 2 pizza team (8-10 people) in a multi-disciplinary environment with product managers, software development engineers, design technologists, UX designers, front end engineers and user researchers.
