Overview

The LMI is seeking a Database Administrator to work on our highly diverse team of engineers, programmers, support personnel and management team supporting analysts across the Sponsor and Sponsor's partners. The DBA will be part of a team that supports multiple databases used by multiple applications to include Oracle databases, along with other DBA work as assigned.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:Identify, analyze, define, and coordinate user, customer and stakeholder needs and translates them into technical requirements; Assist business units in expressing their needs in terms that can be used to generate valid database requirements.Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies for database backups distributed across many sites.Providing conceptual design, prototype, and test cycles appropriate to a chosen technical solution; identify and manage dependencies with other systems and elements of the IT infrastructure.Developing and implementing test plans for commercial off the shelf (COTS) and custom developed systems.Coordinating and managing the resolution of inter-segment problems; Identify potential environmental impacts on systems; Record lessons learned, processes and procedures, and other pertinent quality topics in appropriate formats.Working with project personnel to resolve schedule problems and ensure developed applications and systems are transitioned to customers in a timely manner; Validate system elements and requirements.Ensuring all product and administrative documentation is completed and maintained in order to ensure continuity and historical reference; Ensure deliverables meet all relevant quality and security standards.Security scanning of databases and mitigation of security vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

Must Have qualifications:

Demonstrated experience directly working as DBA using Oracle 12c.

Demonstrated experience as a DBA working with Oracle's Data Guard and Oracle Database Vault. Demonstrated experience as a DBA with Oracle's stored procedures and SQL Server stored procedures. Demonstrated experience as a DBA working on Microsoft SQL Server Database(s). Demonstrated experience as a DBA designing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting databases as a DBA. Demonstrated experience as a DBA with data replication, backup, recovery, partitioning, storage, access and capacity planning to include documenting DB architecture as a DBA. Demonstrated direct experience performing database management system upgrades and applying patches.

* BS Information Technology or equivalent experience
* 7 or more total years of experience
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
* TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. LMI will only consider applicants with current security clearances. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.



Desired qualifications:

Demonstrated experience managing databases running on Windows servers.Demonstrated experience synching geographically dispersed databasesDemonstrated experience designing and building relational or object-oriented databases with strong experience on backend processes and engineering.Demonstrated experience with data modeling (Logical and Physical design) and experience with designing and managing database security.Demonstrated experience with using Structured Query Language (SQL). Demonstrated experience with security scans of databases and mitigation of vulnerabilities.Demonstrated experience with SQL Server "Always On" Availability Groups.Demonstrated experience with creating Windows Powershell scripts.Demonstrated experience with managing database replication (standby databases).Demonstrated experience developing, documenting and implementing database backup and recovery processes and procedures.Demonstrated experience Architecting High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Failover database environment and Query Optimization.Demonstrated experience with databases in virtualized environments.Demonstrated experience Shell scripting skills.One or more database administration certifications for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and/or MySQL databases, such as Microsoft Certified database Administrator (MCDBA), Microsoft SQL Server database certification, Oracle Database Certification such as Oracle Certified Associate (OCA), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Master (OCM) and/or MySQL Database Administrator.
