Position Overview:

The Database Administrator performs a variety of complex administrative and technical work in managing the databases through SDLC, issues troubleshooting, performance tuning, database backups and restores, DR tests, data replication and analysis, and DB change management within IT Technical Services.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

* Administer company's databases and associated software through SDLC
* Maintain, monitor, and assist with Applications, Databases, data and batch processes
* Help in database design, programming, troubleshooting and management of problems affecting IT and enterprise database applications
* Report and address database problems, monitor utilization, recommend solutions and equipment requirements (DB resource management and capacity planning)
* Insure scalability, resilience, security and efficiency for managed databases
* Provide backup for related positions as needed and additional tasks as assigned
* Train and share knowledge on Database management tasks with relevant IT personnel

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, computer programming, or related field
* Proficiency in MySQL database management and related tools (Install, Create, Backup & Recovery), SME level
* Proficiency in MS SQL Server database management (Install, Create, Monitor, Troubleshoot, Tune, Backup & Recovery)
* Familiarity in Oracle database administration
* Familiarity with Linux and Windows based DBMS
* Knowledge of SQL, shell scripting, database and open systems management best practices, relational database technology and backup and restore procedures
* Familiarity with Cloud Hosting and DR Testing
* Strong oral and written communication, analytical and decision-making skills
* Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to people with varying degrees of technical knowledge
* Ability to meet project deadlines
* Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with peers and supervisors
* Ability to work on call, nights, and weekends on a rotating schedule
