Database Administrator

Dallas, TX

Seeking a Database Administrator with strong TSQL and PowerShell development skills. This is a high-growth position with opportunities to work on a variety of client projects simultaneously, including SQL troubleshooting, development, custom monitoring solutions, health checks, and consulting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Participate in the delivery of projects and solutions to completion in a team environment while demonstrating a consultative personality, leadership mindset, and collaborative communication style.
* Demonstrate and be able to communicate a more-than-fundamental understanding of Microsoft SQL Server concepts, especially Enterprise-edition and features introduced in SQL Server 2016+.
* Self-drive and learn new concepts. We look for a history of self-driven skills improvement and technical enthusiasm, and we will pair that with teamwork, backup, training and job-shadowing.


* Execute T-SQL troubleshooting, query optimization, indexing and Enterprise-edition features.

SSIS development using the project deployment model, demonstrated familiarity with enterprise ETL concepts.
* Using SQL Server Data Tools for developing source-controlled database projects in a team environment


* Troubleshooting SQL Server maintenance, configuration and High Availability solutions, specifically multi-subnet Availability Groups.


* Work while providing knowledge transfer to peers and clients, deliver documentation of solutions.

Professional Qualifications:

* 3+ years of experience with SQL Server 2012+
* Four-year degree (or work experience equivalent)
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Technical Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate skills and applicable experience in all of the following:

* Programming Languages: T-SQL, PowerShell
* Lifecycle Tools: Team Foundation Server, Git
* Database Engines: SQL Server 2012+
* High Availability: SQL Server Availability Groups, Windows Server Failover Clustering
* Tools: SSMS, Data Tools (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS), Ops Studio, VS Code
