We're looking for a Data Scientist to help the Shopping Ads Quality team with their goal of surfacing high-quality ads that help Pinners discover and do what they love. You'll apply quantitative analysis, data mining and data visualization techniques to improve the quality and relevance of ads on Pinterest.
What you'll do:
* Perform deep dive analysis to understand and optimize the key levers of our ads ecosystem * Generate insights and communicate them with a broad range of stakeholders effectively by creating compelling reports and visualizations * Design core metrics that serve as the North Stars for team efforts and model trade-off decisions across product areas * Work with product managers and engineers to design data products, prove their value by running experiments and release into production
What we're looking for:
* Advanced degree in a quantitative field with a proven track record of data-driven decision making in business settings * Expert in SQL and proficient in Python (or R) * 3+ years experience doing quantitative analysis or statistical modeling * Knowledgeable about the machine learning trade-offs and model evaluation * A self-propelled continuous learner who keeps up with new tools and techniques by taking online classes, attending conferences and getting his/her hands dirty * Knowledgeable about best practices around data manipulation, building data pipelines, feature engineering and creating dashboards * Ability to lead initiatives across multiple product areas and communicate findings with leadership and product teams * Experience in Ads or Shopping Products will be preferred
