The Data Scientist - Lead will have the following duties and responsibilities:

* Support the organization to derive value from data science and analytics
* Educate users on benefit of analytics
* Intense customer focus both internal and external customers
* Will extract and analyze data from internal databases as well as from external data (i.e.OnCommand systems, GPS, weather, demographics, telematics, etc.)
* Will utilize data to support businesses model improvements
* Will assist businesses using data and analytics to help optimize profits
* Responsible for all aspects of model building process: data aggregation, cleansing, building, validation, and implementation
* Mentor team members by teaching analytic and modeling best practices
* Effectively present analytic results and communicate modeling computations to customers

Position Purpose and Requirements

Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse "big data" sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.

Basic Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of analytics or statistical analysis experience

OR

* Master's degree and at least 3 years of analytics or statistical analysis experience

OR

* At least 7 years of analytics or statistical analysis experience

Additional Requirements

* Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
* Programming experience, including data extraction, cleansing and manipulation (SQL)
* R and/or Python programming
