Overall Purpose

This position is responsible for the development, implementation and enhancement of analytically derived models to produce the highest level of fraud and risk detection and prevention.

Essential Functions

* Extracts, transforms and loads data from various sources and formats taking the initiative to improve the process where appropriate.
* Creates predictive and other analytically derived models in collaboration with more senior analysts.
* Responsible for assessing the value of new data sources, data elements, and alternative modeling approaches.
* Responsible for exploratory data analysis and statistical analysis tasks including, but not limited to, clustering, sampling, segmentation, and significance testing.
* Translates high level business objectives into quantifiable analysis tasks.
* May mentor junior analysts in the areas of programming, data manipulation, and analysis techniques.
* Identifies and recommends new modeling and analytics opportunities.
* Support the company's commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; Advanced degree preferred.
* A minimum of 4 years data analytics experience in a data rich environment (or equivalent education and experience).
* A minimum of 3 years work related experience in efficient programming enabling timely manipulation and analysis of large data sets.
* Experience with a wide variety of data mining, analytical and statistical modeling techniques.
* Experience with commonly used, industry related analytical data sources
* Proven ability to effectively communicate findings from complex analyses to non-technical audiences.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
